Your connected WiFi
A web page on its own cannot read your connected WiFi. Browsers block every website from seeing your WiFi name and password, for security. That is a browser rule, not a bug in this card. Use the Windows launcher below and it will open a copy of this card with your connected WiFi already filled in. Or type the name and password manually, it takes 10 seconds.
Show-My-WiFi.bat. It creates My-WiFi-Card.html with your WiFi filled in and opens that file for you.

How WiFi QR sharing works
A WiFi QR code is a standard way to store a network name and password inside a QR image. Phones already know how to read it, so joining becomes one tap instead of a typing test.
1. Add your WiFi
Type your network name and password, or let the launcher for Windows, Mac or Linux detect the WiFi your computer is already connected to and fill the card in for you.
2. Get your card
The QR code is generated on your device, instantly, in the standard format. Show it on screen, print it for your home, office or shop, or save it as a PNG.
3. Scan and connect
Guests and your other devices point a camera at the card and tap Join or Connect. No password spoken out loud, no typos, no router sticker hunt.
Made for homes, offices and guests
Anywhere people keep asking "what is the WiFi password?", a printed WiFi card ends the question for good.
Home and family
Put a card on the fridge or by the TV. Family and visitors connect themselves, and your password stops being shouted across the house.
Office and shop
A card at reception or the counter gives customers and clients guest WiFi in seconds, while your staff stop repeating the password all day.
Rentals and guests
Hosts and Airbnb owners print one card per property. Guests scan on arrival, which means fewer messages and better first impressions.
The standard WiFi QR format
WiFi Share Card builds the same payload phones have supported for years, with special characters in names and passwords escaped correctly.
WIFI:T:WPA;S:YourNetwork;P:YourPassword;;T is the security type (WPA, WEP or nopass), S is the network name (SSID), P is the password, and H:true is added for hidden networks. That is why the same card works on iPhone Camera, Android Camera and WiFi settings QR scanners.
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about sharing WiFi with a QR code, privacy, and finding your password.
How do I share my WiFi with a QR code?
Enter your WiFi name and password into WiFi Share Card, or run the Windows launcher so it fills them in automatically. The tool creates a standard WiFi QR code. Anyone you show it to can point a phone camera at it and tap Join or Connect to get on your network without typing the password.
Why does the card not show my connected WiFi automatically?
No web page can read your connected WiFi. Browsers block every website from seeing your WiFi name and password for security. That is why WiFi Share Card includes small launcher scripts for Windows, macOS and Linux. The launcher runs on your own computer, reads the WiFi profile saved there, and opens a copy of the card with your details already filled in.
Does the WiFi QR code work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The QR code uses the standard WIFI format that the iPhone Camera app and Android camera and WiFi settings have supported for years. Scan, tap the prompt, and the phone joins.
Is it safe to share my WiFi as a QR code?
The QR code contains your WiFi password, because that is how the phone joins automatically. Treat a printed or saved card like the password itself: share it with people you trust, keep it off public posts, and change your WiFi password if a card spreads too far. WiFi Share Card itself runs 100% locally and never sends your password anywhere.
How do I find my WiFi password on Windows?
On Windows 11, open Settings, Network and internet, WiFi, click your connected network name, then choose View next to WiFi network password. On any Windows version, open Command Prompt and run netsh wlan show profile name="YOUR WIFI NAME" key=clear, then read the Key Content line. The WiFi Share Card Windows launcher does this for you automatically.
Is WiFi Share Card free and does it work offline?
Yes. It is free, open source under the MIT license, and the card is a single HTML file with the QR library built in, so it works with no internet connection after you save it. There is no sign up and no tracking.
