Audit report
What it does
Stale article detection using the updated date or the file modification time, with a configurable threshold
Duplicate and near-duplicate titles found by normalised token overlap
Broken internal links that point at slugs which do not exist in the set, while external URLs are ignored
Orphan articles with zero inbound internal links, with drafts and unpublished articles reported separately
Accepts a folder of Markdown or HTML files, or a CSV or JSON export in a Zendesk Guide style shape
Install and usage
Requires Node.js 20 or later. There are no dependencies to install.
git clone https://github.com/aamirtechs/helpcenter-audit.git
cd helpcenter-audit
node src/cli.js examples/articles --stale-days 365 --now 2026-01-15 --out-dir out
The run writes findings.csv and report.md to the output directory. The --now flag pins the reference date so staleness runs are reproducible. External link liveness checking is out of scope: the tool is fully offline.
